ABSTRACT

The treatment of typical carcinoid tumors in bronchus is usually done by a small pulmonary resection with or without bronchoplasty. The authors report the case of a patient with typical carcinoid tumor in the left lower lobar bronchus, next to the lobar carina. They performed a longitudinal bronchotomy, tumor resection, and suture of the bronchus, preserving the lung tissue. The patient is currently well, three years after surgery, without any evidence of recurrence in the bronchoscopic control.

RESUMO

Geralmente, o tratamento para tumores carcinóides típicos em brônquio é a ressecção pulmonar econômica, com ou sem broncoplastia. Este é um relato de caso de uma paciente com tumor carcinóide típico no brônquio lobar inferior esquerdo, junto à carina lobar. Foi realizada broncotomia longitudinal, ressecção do tumor e sutura do brônquio, preservando o parênquima pulmonar. A paciente evoluiu bem e apresenta três anos de pós-operatório sem evidências de recidiva da doença nas broncoscopias de controle.
